OPD: Man Threatens to Kill Girlfriend, Child

ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - One man is facing assault charges after police say he threatened to kill his girlfriend and her child during an argument last week.

Around 7:16 p.m. Jan. 20, officers were called to San Subia Court about a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived they spoke to a woman who said her boyfriend, later identified as James Millican, had hit her in the head during an argument, according to a release from the Odessa Police Department.

During the investigation, officers learned that Millican also threatened to kill his girlfriend and her child while pointing a gun at them, according to the release.

Police officials say when officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled.

While reviewing a 9-1-1 call that was made during the disturbance, police say a man can be heard saying, "I'll shoot you now."

Investigators later identified and located Millican Thursday.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree-felony.
