Missing Dog Reunited with Owner Following West Texas Dog Show

Missing Dog Found Four Days Later

MIDLAND, Texas - (Local 2/Fox 24) - MIDLAND, Texas - (Local 2/Fox 24) - The owner of a multi-thousand dollar show dog has been reunited with her beloved animal.

Last Thursday, dog handler Patty Schneider, lost her Mexican Hairless Xolo dog after it ran away from the La Quinta Inn that she was staying at.

Schneider, who was in town from Albuquerque for the West Texas Kennel Club Dog Show at the Horseshoe Arena, was taking her dogs out for a walk when she tripped over one of the dogs and accidentally let go of the leash.

That's when Izzy, who is only nine-months old and worth thousands of dollars, ran away. Schneider spent the rest of her night and weekend looking for Izzy, but was unable to find her.

"I drove and drove and drove looking for her, calling her name. I'm upset and I'd like to have her back," Schneider said.

The handler even had several friends and acquaintances from the dog show helping in the search of her small, furry companion.

It looks like all of their efforts paid off since Izzy was returned to her owner today. We've been told that a Local 2 viewer found the missing animal across the Interstate at Universal Pressure Pumping located on Industrial Avenue.

As Schneider's friend, Steve Calley, who assisted in the search said,
"It just shows you what a warm community we've got...Animal people are amazing individuals and they all take this just as serious as we do."
