Local Law Enforcement to increase patrols on graduation night

ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - Law enforcement in Odessa will increase patrols at the end of the month in an attempt to keep high school students safe on their big day.

Between May 24 and the 27, the Odessa Police Department, ECISD Police, Ector County Hospital District Police, UTPB Police and the Ector County Sheriff's Office will be out in force for Operation High School Graduation Safe Night.

Departments will increase patrols and will be specifically looking for underage drinking and drug use, according to a release.

Furthermore, the departments are asking the community to help in the operation. Any tips that result in a citation could be worth a reward, police say.

Police say the operation is designed to keep students safe on graduation night.
