History made at Odessa High.

He grew up on Odessa's south-side. The youngest of three children and son of a Baptist minister.

His parents made sure he knew who he was before he went out into the world.

Coach Servance was a big kid and was not allowed to play football with smaller kids his age.

His size is what made interested football. He later played for Permian but if not for desegregation he would have been an Ector Eagle.

At the time he didn't realized what playing for Permian would mean for his future.

He was once the head basketball coach for Permian. His high school football coaching job was in Lubbock.

He's now back home coaching his old cross town rival. Something he felt was his calling.

Coach Servance says he still supports Mojo...sort of.

Coach Servance also knows that this isn't just about him but more about being an example to kids who don't know their full potential.

He says he's from the same neighborhood and went to the same schools.
