Former Midland Lee Running Back Arrested in Undercover Operation

Aron Dobbins Faces Felony Charge

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - A former Midland Lee and Tyler Junior College running back faces charges for soliciting a person under 18 for prostitution, according to an arrest affidavit.

Aron Dobbins was one of 37 suspects busted in an undercover operation targeting human trafficking in Midland county during the month of July.

An arrest affidavit states that Dobbins responded Tuesday (July 25) to an online advertisement regarding the prostitution of a 16-year-old girl. An undercover agent was posing as the girl.

Dobbins agreed to pay $150 in return for sexual intercourse, the affidavit states. Dobbins then went to an arranged location and knocked on the door of a hotel room where he believed he was going to be meeting a 16-year-old girl for sex.

DPS agents arrested Dobbins after interviewing him during the operation.

Aron Dobbins last played for the Midland Lee Rebels in 2014. He was featured heavily in big games on Friday nights in the Permian Basin. He racked up 1,000 rushing yards in his junior season and totaled 800 yards in the first five games of his senior season (2014).

Tyler Junior College confirms Dobbins played for its football team the past two seasons but has since moved on.
