ECSO Warns of Phone Scam

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - The Ector County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a phone scam going on throughout the area.

Officials say the scammers are calling residents telling them they have an active warrant for their arrest.

The scammers are then asking the victim to go to 7-Eleven to purchase a money order and then send the money order, according to a release.

However, ECSO officials say, this is a scam and their office does not call to notify residents of any outstanding warrants.
