Early Morning House Fire Determined to be Arson

A juvenile was arrested

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3 a.m. Sunday morning, the AFD was called to a residential structure fire in the 1100 block of Cedar Street.

Thanks to the efforts of AFD personnel, the three occupants of the home were able to be evacuated safely. The fire was able to be contained to a single room within the residence and was extinguished quickly.

After an investigation, the fire was determined to have been set intentionally. The fire caused an estimated $5,000 worth of damages.

A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested for Arson and transported to the Taylor County Juvenile Justice Center.

The juvenile's identity has not been released.
