Child Airlifted to Lubbock Following Possible Drowning Call

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - A 2-year-old has been taken to Lubbock for treatment after deputies responded to a near-drowning on Monday in south Ector County. 

According to officials with the Ector County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 16500 block of S. Windmill Avenue around 3:50 p.m. Monday about the near drowning. 

At the scene, the mother of a 2-year-old told deputies that the child fell into their swimming pool and that she had pulled him out, according to a release. 

The child was taken to the hospital and later air lifted to Lubbock for treatment.
