Body Found in Monahans House Identified as Jennifer Blake

MONAHANS, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - More than 11 months after detectives with the Monahans Police Department found a body in an abandoned home the person has been identified.

Police say the woman now known as Jennifer Blake was found on March 12th, 2016 and is believed to have been a California native who also lived in Colorado.

Her body was found in the house where homeless people were said to have been seen staying.

Police searched the home after neighbors next to the house said they had smelled a foul odor for weeks.

Police found her body wrapped in a blanket and say they do not know how she got in the home, or her cause of death.

Now investigators are asking the public to help them find the missing pieces.

"We want justice for her," said Lieutenant Kristofer Quintana "We want her family to know what happened that day, and if anyone knows something suspicious that happened, let us know so we can do our job and investigate it."

Monahans Police are urging anyone who may have known Jennifer Blake or recognizes her from the attached picture to call the Ward County
